Wordful Strike a Pose Wednesday

Or not.

But promise me that the next time I haul out the camera and attempt to take your photo you won't do this...

Or this...

And, you'll especially avoid this...

I don't understand what it is about the trifecta of me, my kids, and my Canon that produce the most hideous, most unbecoming, amateurish, I-can't-believe-you-put-that-crap-on-a-card photographs of all time.

I don't have a problem making other people's kids look nice together.

But, when it comes to my own I get a crap load of wandering eyes and poop tongue faces that quickly ruin an otherwise perfect family portrait.

The past two years I had to send the cards out with individual shots of each of the kids in their own little box because I got sick of posing and reposing their uncooperative little selves while sweating up a storm and threatening their lives. It wasn't good for any of us.

So maybe I'll go with that idea again and I'll feature them each in their own element.

#1 reading...

#2 being silly...

and, #3 doing one of the two things he does best, eating...

or getting into mischief (could he look any more guilty?!)...

Or, maybe just to prove my point I'll use this one...

Then one year, when the really-amazing-every-one's-looking-and-no-one-is-effing-it-up-with-their-dumb-expression shot finally makes it onto the card people will actually appreciate it.

I'll let you know when I capture it.

Until then we're probably just gonna go with this...

I feel the same way!! I am able to get pretty decent pictures of other people's kids, but try to get pictures of my own kids, and I end up ready to wring their necks from the frustration. You'd think it wouldn't be SO hard to sit still and look at the camera for a few minutes. Geesh!

You have the most beautiful boys!!!

I'm with you. I think they do it to tick us off, the little pranksters. But I have to say those individual shots are awesome. I love the one of #3 with his cheeks pooched out.

Love that shot of #3 with his mouth full.

Ya it used to be so easy to get at least 2 of three triplets to smile on camera if I made an arse of myself. Now, they will not even sit in the same sofa for more than 3 nanoseconds, so pictures? Not so much. Going to try a professional for our xmas cards. Wish me luck.

New to your blog - Your kids are so cute! If my 3 are in a picture together, at least one is not looking and at least 1 has a finger up their nose. Never fails...

Ha ha ha.

You are wrong though. You capture wonderful pictures of your boys......

Let's have a contest and see who can get a good shot of their kids first. I'm putting my money on you. :)

LOVE IT! I think the candids are so much better, especially when they are funny. I think you are great with the camera. Happy WW and take care.

Why doesn't it work on your own kids? Um, because he-LLO, you're MOM. Haha! Too cute -- love the pics!

Very funny. Hard to get a good shot when they're moving targets.

They are lovely, lovely boys. You will sure have your hands full in about 10 years when the girls come a'knockin'.

Okay - I'm SOOOOOO with you on using the individual boxes on the Christmas card this year...it's pathetic, really. I mean seriously - must we bribe with a WHOLE candy bar or something - is it really that hard to look and smile?? Twerps.

Good thing they are cute! :-)

Thanks for stopping by my blog tonight. You happened to catch it on a day where there was a serious topic (every few days I get one in there), but mostly, it's me poking fun at being a mom - and one that is totally winging it!

Hope you stop by again....and I love your blog by the way.

P.S. I can't get over how cute your boys are. Really, every picture is a great one. They are so expressive!

Oh, I love the pictures where at least one kid is kind of going all wonky...we've got one in front of the Christmas tree when my son was 13 months old and his sisters were 6 and 8. The girls are all smiles, perfectly posed...their brother is red-faced and SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER because he was exhausted and ready for a bottle. We titled it "Merry F**king Christmas."

This is why I leave taking photos of the boys for reasons other than for my enjoyment to the professionals. Crap. I have to make an appiontment.

Giving away two copies of the movie Extract starring Jason Bateman and Ben Affleck. Contest ends 4/2/10.
