As much as I hate to admit it, I’m starting to feel like I’m into poetry.
It keeps occurring, time and time again, on this blog of mine, and I’m starting to actually be inspired to write it (not as a joke, or a gag) because I feel it.
Like really feel it.
And that bugs me.
Because I’m not into poetry.
As in I hate it.
And even poets for that matter.
You know, the serious unrhymey kind.
I think it’s the berets.
I love Shel Silverstein and Jack Prelutsky, but my knowledge of notable poets ends there.
Because I hate it.
Ask BFF.
Poetry has always (at least before) made me twitch.
But nowadays, I upload a photo of one of The Dudes and a poem starts.
I hope it doesn’t mean I’m getting old.
Or wise.
I’ve never wanted to be wise.
That’s just a nice way of saying you’re old.
Anyway.
Point is, thanks to a picture (taken by #1 of #3 and I engrossed in our nightly routine of dancing when I should be cleaning the kitchen) I’ve got another poem for you.
And, I know they aren't all technically correct or on the level of (insert name of well known poet who I'm unfamiliar with who writes really good stuff), but they are poem like, and for me, that's pretty much the exact same thing.
This week's poem inspiring photo:
a hurried life at breakneck pace.
appreciation lost to haste.
one day I’ll long to see this face,
ashamed I let it go to waste.

I'm not much of a poetry person myself, but that was beautiful and just needed to be written. Thanks for sharing it with us.
You know what... that was beautiful and it made my heart ache.
That photo's a keeper... (#1 has got his mama's genes)
What a cute picture - and GREAT poem!!!

My mind tends to wander during poetry. Unless its an angry or unstable person.. they always crack me up!
Your kids are absolutely Stunning!! Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful1!
Awesome photo and great poem. that photo needed a poem!
Aw, well I hope you still like me.. I write poems! :)
That is an awesome picture and a great poem!
I don't know, I think that is pretty beautiful. I almost cried. And the picture is beyond phenomenol. Sometimes I wish I had someone to follow me around and catch me in the little moments with my kids, but then other times it is a really, really good thing that I don't.
Gorgeous, gorgeous kids. EVERY time I open your blog, I think the same thing. CERTAINLY worthy of a spot-o-poetry.
Ah..........you're turning into a regular Emily Dickinson. :)
Did you sign that dumb mom? You did, didn't you? It was beautiful. Stop being dumb and write more.
awwww. Good mommy moment.
Okay so Jennifer almost cried but I actually DID cry. Like a BABY. Figures, I guess.
Dumb Mom and her stupid beautiful poetry.

Hey, I LIKE that poem. I like it a LOT. You should write more. It was sweet :) And the picture? Poetic.
What a sweet, sweet moment!! Thank you for sharing!
Okay, THAT picture deserved a poem! How could you not want to burst into poetry when you saw it?!
Okay, I'm crying a bit now...
That was beautiful. The picture AND the poem.
Take it from a poet, who had to take TONS of poetry classes, there's a lot of stuff that doesn't appeal to everyone, but there is some good stuff that you might like. And of course, since you're getting earnings (which isn't a surprise because you're already an artist), I think you should take a look at poetry again and see if it clicks with you.
God, I talk too much.
That was a great poem and most definitely a beautiful photo. If only we could freeze time and make those sweet moments last just a little bit longer.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog again. :)
Kristi, Hello...Is This On?
@TweetingMama
Get yourself a beret immediately. I totally think you could pull it off.
Stopping by from 7 Clown Circus. What a cute picture! And I love poetry, and it is interesting to see it in a blog post.

Love both the photo and the poem!
I actually was very into reading and writing poetry in college, but Jack Prelutsky will always be my absolute favorite. Really need to find my copy of The New Kid on the Block and start reading it to the kids!
First of all, your poem sums up my daily thoughts as I debate between dishes and dancing with my own little peanuts. Second, your kids are GORGEOUS! :)
I love your poem! I think it's great. And definitely not a beret poem. Stopping by from SITS.
I love it. Keep on writing, keep on photographing and most of all keep on dancing in your kitchen with your kids!
Love it!
